ELECTROBEN TYPE BENTONITE

BENTONITE FOR GROUNDING SYSTEMS

In the ground, it can absorb the moisture in the surrounding soil, and this is the main reason for using it, as this feature helps stabilize electrode impedance throughout the year. It also features low resistivity -approximately 5 ohm per meter- and it is noncorrosive. Under extremely dry conditions, the blend may crack, decreasing the contact area between it and the electrode. Bentonite is thixotropic, so it is found as a gel when it is not moved or stressed. It is most often used as filling material when burying long rods. It is easily compacted and it bonds srongly.
