If added in the feed production stage, its ability to trap toxic particles gives the product antimicrobial characteristics that improve the digestive process.

Animal Feed

An important use for bentonites is as a pelletizing aid in the production of animal feed pellets. It is used in poulty, pigs, turkey, goats, sheep, and cattle feed, mainly. It acts as a binder and carries vitamins, mineral salts, antibiotics and other additives.

Adding small amounts of bentonites (1%) to poultry feed produces excellent results: egg production is increased by 15%, egg size is increased by 10% and shells are harder.

Bentonite has a double effect: it promotes animal growth and it traps toxins. This is due to the fact that feed which contains bentonite, because of its great adsorption capacity, stays longer in the animal’s intestines. Consequently, the clay adsorbs the exess of water, and for that reason nutrients stay longer in the stomach, improving performance. They also adsorb toxins, preventing them from go through the intestine wall. In addition, greater water adsorption results in less moist excrement, and therefore beddings are cleaner and there is less probability of epidemics and proliferation of flies and parasites. Birds fed on this kind of feed excrete 26% more toxins and adsorb 42% more protein.

Description: Sodium montmorrillonite

Composicion Quimica: Hydrated silicate with general formula (Na, CA); (Mg, Al)2 (OH)2Si4O19.11H2O, containing quartz, feldspar, and gypsum impurities.

AB TYPE BENTONITE: Natural montmorrillonite of good dispersibility and highly cohesive, which results in excellent pellet mechanichal strength and dimensional stability.

APPLICATION RATE: Add between 0.1% and 0.3% of bentonite to the material.

AVAILABLE IN :25 Kg bags, palletized, fastened with hoops and waterproofed with 200 micron heat shrink wrap, and 1000Kg BIG BAG.
